VICTORIA's real estate industry is ready to pat itself on the back.
Award season is about to start, with the Real Estate Institute of
Victoria's Awards for Excellence finalists announced this week.
The awards celebrate commercial and residential agents and campaigns using various budgets.
Awards for copywriting, business broking, website quality
and buyers' advocacy will be judged by industry peers and distributed
by the REIV.
The awards nominate only REIV members. The Property
Council of Australia and Urban Development Institute of Australia also
reward industry players at state and national award ceremonies.
Eastern suburb agency Woodards has two nominations for
the REIV's prestigious "best residential campaign with a budget of more
than $10,000" - including one for marketing a warehouse conversion at 8
Eastern Place, Hawthorn.
Agents nominated for the residential salesperson of the
year are all in the east or south-east suburbs, and include Dallas
Taylor from Philip Webb Real Estate, Adam Joske from Gary Peer &
Associates, and Jeremy Desmier and Tim Heavyside from Fletchers Real
Estate.
Three agents are vying for the commercial salesperson of
the year award - Rob Joyes from Colliers International; his former
colleague Mark Wizel, now at CB Richard Ellis; and Sandro Peluso from
GormanKelly, the agency the REIV chose to sell a Camberwell site it
owned, in 2008.
