Spotlight on Maling Road, Canterbury

Maling Road, Canterbury
"Everyone's a Local"

Maling Road is a boutique retail strip located just off Canterbury Road in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs comprising approximately 70 retail and service businesses. The location was centred around its proximity to the Canterbury Railway Station built in 1882. Most of the commercial buildings in this precinct date from the early 20th century with many in the Queen Anne style as opposed to Victorian.

The suburb of Canterbury has an approximate population of 8,400 residents with an average age of 44 years and a median house price of $2.315 million.

Whilst Maling Road largely appeals to locals, it also draws visitors and tourists from further afield due to its charm and village like atmosphere.

According to the Maling Road Trader’s Association website:

Maling Road is a colourful, contemporary village offering a selection of quality homeware, gifts, beauty, fashion, cafes, fresh food and eateries that create the unique Maling Road experience... Stroll through enticing walkways and get immediately caught up in the eclectic atmosphere… Uncover stores that supply the unique and the everyday and be greeted by business owners who understand you are a customer, not a consumer. Shop where owners will get to know you by name.

If you are about to replace a guarantee or have just leased a property and the Lease demands that one be provided, what do you look for?
