Maling Road is a boutique retail strip located just off Canterbury Road in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs comprising approximately 70 retail and service businesses. The location was centred around its proximity to the Canterbury Railway Station built in 1882. Most of the commercial buildings in this precinct date from the early 20th century with many in the Queen Anne style as opposed to Victorian.
The suburb of Canterbury has an approximate population of 8,400 residents with an average age of 44 years and a median house price of $2.315 million.
Whilst Maling Road largely appeals to locals, it also draws visitors and tourists from further afield due to its charm and village like atmosphere.
